Kara’s Baptism

May 3, 2009 Kara’s Baptism at Our Lady of Lourdes church in DePere, Wisconsin

Kara’s baptism was held after the 10:15AM mass.  People from both sides of the family came to watch.  I liked the layout of how everything was done – the welcomming of us comming into the church, getting family envolved, and the sceanery was beautiful.  Kara was well behaved as ususal.  She loved the attention she was getting from everyone.  I especially love how she would watch Fr. Tim as if she knew what he was doing and as if she understood what he was saying.  After the serimony, Fr. Tim gave us a certificate for kara and a little blue hat that was made by other people.  I thought it was a cute gift for us.
The party was held at my parent’s.  There was a ton of food and lots of people came.  Kara got a bunch of presents and a good chunk of money to start her savings account.  I was getting tired as the day went on, no naps and I didn’t even play soccer!

LONG TIME

wow. it’s been super long since I’ve been on this site… pretty much forgot all about it.  A lot has happend over the years.
To start off: August 18, 2008 I had a little girl named Kara Marie.  She was 6# 14oz and 19in. long.  I was in labor for about 13 long hours with 2 hours of pushing… What hard work that was. Now she is about to be 8 months.  Time is going by super fast.
This past January I FINALY got into the nursing program and NWTC after being on the waiting list for a couple of years.  I like it a lot, just very time consuming and lots of studying and hard work.  Clinicals started 2 weeks ago and so far so good… I think the hardest part is going to school, working and being a mom all together.  Times have have rough…
Things haven’t been going smooth between derek and I.  We’ve been arguing more often than we used to.  I think it’s mostly the stress i’m under and him not helping me with kara as much as I want him too.  He’s a good person, just doesnt get the point of responsibility that came with a baby… I have to ask him to do things instead of him asking me if there is anything he could do to help or just looking to see what can be done.  I hate telling him what to do, and another thing is that I never get to sleep in anymore… so when I get the chance to sleep in, I want to take it.  Derek gets totally pissed at me if I ask him to wake up with Kara (which is about 9:00 ish AM).  He always complaines how tired he is… well if he wouldn’t stay up so late (3:30-4:00 ish AM) playing poker online, he wouldn’t be so tired… I have no sympathy cuz he does it to himself.  It just gets fustrating that he has to have his way or shit hits the fan…
plus the bad habbits he has-smoking- he was supposed to quick in July… never did even though he promised… then he said he’d quite by the time kara was born… hasn’t yet… and now it’s one of those things that bothers me the most… he told me he’s cut down but i know he hasn’t…. and that’s one of the things that’s been a conflict. To be honest, if I knew in the beginning that derek smoked… we would most likely have never been together… and now that its been over 2 years… its hard… I tell derek how I feel all the time–I do not sugar coat things… I tell how it is… i just dont think he’ll get it…  there’s so much more for me to talk about but I dont want this to be a complaining session about all the issues that are going on so i’m gonna get goin’ and head to bed…
g’night..

Milwaukee Brewers Game

Last night I went to the Milwaukee Brewers game with my friend Becky.  First Wednesday was such a long day to begin with.  I had class at 12:30-2:30 and then Physics Lab at 3:30-5:30, fortunately I got out of Physics early.  I left class around 4:45 and arrived at Becky’s house around 5:00.  From there, we started our journey to Milwaukee.  On the way down to Milwaukee, Becky and I were drinking what is called "Peels."  It is a fruity malt beverage that is at least 5% alcohole–equivlent to 2 light beers.  We both had 2 Peels on the way down to Milwaukee or 4 light beers–which ever makes you understand how much we were drinking.  Anyways, I had a pretty good buzz going.  We arrived at Mike’s (Becky’s boyfriend) place around 6:45.  Then Mike decided to drive us to the Stadium.  On the way to the stadium we had to stop at an ATM to get me some money and at a gas station for batteries for the camera.  We didn’t arrive at the staduim untill about 7:30ish.  While we were walking to the staduim, there were 2 black guys selling tickets for $10 each.  We had voucher tickets, so we decided to keep the voucher tickets for another game and paid the $10 for the tickets. By the time we got in, it was the end of the 2nd Inning. I was so amazed by the stadium.  This was my FIRST time ever being at the Brewers Stadium.  It was AMAZING. And even though they lost, I still had a blast.  I saw my friend Matt there.  That was pretty cool.  After the game we went back to Mike’s apartment to drop off his roommate and Becky’s little brother that came with us, then we headed out to a bar for one drink.  I met a really cool guy named Develin who was a cop in the area.  Develin made me take a DOUBLE Jagierbomb (dont know how to spell it) shot with him. That was tough to drink.  Becky and I also got hungry so we orderd a cheeseburger with fries and nachoes.  We almost ate all of it.  Once we got back to the apartment, which was around 11:45, I just passed out on the couch for a good 5 hours…then after that I kept on tossing and turning all night.  It sucked, but I at least to got take a nap today after school.  Yeah and school today was rough.  Had class at 10:30, so we had to leave Milwaukee at 8:00AM, we made it back to Green Bay at 9:10AM…we were bookin’ it–about 80mph.  Then after class I workedout for about an hour.  That felt good.  I had such a great time.  I can’t wait to do this again…except i’ll have to do it when I dont have to get up early the next day.
!!!!DON’T FORGET TO CHECK OUT MY PHOTO ALBUM OF THE GAME!!!!

New Cell Phone

This week was pretty eventfull.  Had class, and then on Tuesday and on Thursday I had to work at my new job at the Radisson Hotel (Pine Tree Gril) for waitressing.  Tuesday wasn’t so bad, I got trained on how to do room service.  That got pretty busy.  We even had to bring some orders out to the Provilion tent where Willy Nelson was playing.  That was super cool, except for the fact that I didn’t get to see Willy Nelson, I just had to deliver his food to his trailer.   Anyways, on Thursday I go trained on the floor, waiting on tables.  We had a group of about 13 people– 2 women and the rest men.  Well I’ll tell ya what, those men were dogs.  They kept looking me up and down and sweet talking to me, it was crazy.  Well I guess if it get guys like that when I’m on my own, I better be makin’ some pretty damn good tips off of them!!  I also had a few more tables but they weren’t so bad.  Then around 7:00ish, the Packer players started to arrive.  (they stay at our hotel every night before a home game)  They kept looking in the resturant, waving and smiling at me.  It was alright.  But a lot of our guest were having a blast getting their autographs and photos taken with them.
Then on Friday, some friends of mine and I went to the Packer game.  It was a blast, except for the fact that we lost.  BOO…  It was a great time though, drank a little, got some food, and then after the game, we all went home, and got ready to go out to the bars.  That was a fun time.
Well, while at the Packer game, I dropped my phone on accident.  When I went to open it (flip phone), the screan was blank.  I tried to turn it off to see if that would fix it, NOPE.  Then I decided to take out my battery, NOPE, still blank.  So, if i wanted to call someone, there was no way I could look into my phone book, and if someone was to call me, I had no idea who was calling me.  It sucked, but at least I could recieve calls and make calls.  Well today, I went to the Cingular store to see if I could replace my phone, they said that in order to keep my plan that I am currently on, I would have to buy a phone at its retail price, which is at least $200.  Not thinking so.  And they also said that I could also go to Wal-Mart and buy a "go-phone" for cheap and just switch my SIM-card into that phone.  I spent less than a $100 dollers on a phone–pretty damn good I must say.  But the down side is, I lost all my phone numbers, all my photos, and even my new ring tone I downloaded…"sexy back."  Now all I have to do is just get all the numbers or at least majority of the numbers I had back onto my phone.  So I hope this works out well.

last week of summer vacation

Well to start off, one of my best guy friends, Bryan, came home from Iraq on the 6th of August(sunday).  Around 11:30pm, I got a call on my cell phone from Bryan and Pat telling me that they are picking me up and that we are going to Denny’s (which is one of our traditions) to have some ice cream.  I had tears when I saw Bryan.  It was just a big sign of relief knowing that he was ok and that nothing bad has happend.
Later that week (Thursday), we celebrated Bryan’s 21st birthday (which is actually in March) because he couldn’t celebrate it in Iraq. So we went to a few bars around town. It was a blast.  Bryan got pretty bad, but didn’t throw up which is a very good thing.
Then the next week (wednesday), I had people over because my parents were out of town for my dad’s surgury.  He had given my uncle one of his kidneys, so they were gone for 5 days.  Anyways, I had people over and it was a fun time, got kinda drunk and went to Denny’s late at night again, but this time I got dinner.  That Thursday, my friend Meagan was having people over at her bosses house because she was house sitting.  So a bunch of us went over there to drink and sit in the hot-tub.  I was super drunk, almost went in the hot-tub naked, tired to convince the boys to be naked…yeah I was kinda naughty.   Then on Saturday, we went to the Brown Co. Fair.  They had the trackter pull and a bunch of country things going on.  We went on some rides, and I got sick.  It wasn’t cool.  Monday, I started school…boring, and on Tuesday Bryan left to go back to Iraq at 6:00am. And now here I am telling you about my last weeks of summer vacation.  Now I can’t wait for 3 months because that is when Bryan comes back again to partyi it up again.

P.S.  feel free to check out the photos… under "Bryan’s 21st Birthday"

21st Birthday

Well it was Friday, May 12th, and my boyfriend, Adam, and I drove over to Stevens Point to celebrate my 21st birthday.  We left Greenbay around 9:00PM; drove to New London, (arrived at 10:00PM) so he could take a shower and pack his bag.  We didn’t arrive to my friend Jessi’s apartment untill 11:30 PM.  Yeah, Adam and I were definately running late.  As soon as we arrived at the apartment, I had to change and get ready to party.  Adam had also made me a glass of fruit juice and vodka to drink, and my friends decided to make me drink a bottle of Baccardi Raz. befor we hit the bars at Midnight.
It was about 11:55PM and was time to hit the bars. The first bar we went to was called Partner’s.   Luckly Adam snuck passed the bouncer because he’s only 19.  OOopps .  Oh well, anyways, right away I took a shot of Cherry Cheese Cake and my friend Dana, bought me a glass of Pine-apple vodka.  That didn’t take me long to drink, pluse Adam was taking sips out of it.  After the pine-apple vodka was gone, Jessi bought me a glass of Long Island Iced Tea.  Now that was some good stuff.  After being at Partner’s for about an hour, we took Adam and Tony (Jessi’s boyfriend) back to the apartments.  Adam couldn’t go with because the bars downtown Stevens Point card, and Tony didn’t want to to because he had to leave early in the morning to go back to Stout for graduation.
The second bar we went to was The Martini Bar.  I don’t remember what the martini was called that I had, but it was really good.  It tasted like it had a hint of coconut and some fruit.  Mike, another friend of mine, was also drinking the same thing, but he didn’t want his, so I drank it…quickly.  Also at the Martinii bar, I saw my friend Jeff that I haven’t seen in about a year.
After the Martinii bar, we went to another bar.  I don’t remember what the name was, but anywho, my friends and I took a seat at the bar.  Well guess what the free shot was for birthday people…Bacardii 151.  Yeah, exactly.  Dana’s bref explanation of the shot Bacardii 151 to me went something like this, "Joanna, after this shot, you are gonna be so fucked up that you will not remember from here on."  I wanted to take the shot as soon as the lady gave it to me, but Dana and Jessi wouldn’t let me.  I had to wait for the chaser.  Thank God I did.  The Bacardii 151 burned as hell down my throat.  I totally chugged the chaser.
Well after that, it was already about 2:15AM, and Jessi and Dana need to get back home because they had to work in the morning.  I was totally tipsy. Jessi had to help me walk back to the car.  At the apartment, there waited my sweetie.  He had to take care of my drunk–ass.  He changed me into my pajama’s, and held my hair when I threw up.  Now that’s a gentalman.  LOL.  He also helped me into bed and gave me some water to drink.  Now this is a birthday I am never going to forget.

Camping Trip 2006

Ok, Jessi and I are planning on another camping trip this year!!  We are planning on going to Penninsula State Park instead of J.W Well’s because Penninsula would be way cheaper.  The only diffrence is that we would be in either tents or campers instead of being in a cabin, but hey, at least we know we for sure wont get locked out–HAHAH…
Well Penninsula is about an hour and a half north (In Door County if I remember right or not), but if anyone has any questions feel free to ask me or Jessi.
We want to start planning now to make sure we have enough people and to start making reservations.  We are thinking about going sometime in late June, but that all depends on what you guys think…so please give us some feedback.  And we are also thinking about staying for 4 nights instead of just 2 nights–so that’ll give us some extra fun!!

R.I.P. Erwin F. Cottrell

Well this whole week as been  really rough.  My friend that graduated with me in high school died early Monday morning.   His name is Erwin Floyd Cottrell.  He was and awesome person.  Erwin touched many lives and he was freinds with everyone.  It’s just too bad he had to go, but we all know that he is in a safer place and will always be watching over us.
Erwin’s wake was held on Wednesday evening between 6-8 PM at Ryan’s Funeral Home.  Erwin’s funeral broke the record of the amount of people showed up, and I am not surprised.  He disereved to have that many people show up.  I hope that everyone who reads this takes a moment of silence in reguards of Erwin F. Cottrell.  Thank you all so much for your support.  Erwin we all love you so much.  We will not forget you.  Soon we all will reunite.
